Festival Miami, the annual music festival that opens the South Florida arts season, provides superior and diverse musical programming each year, while expanding
academic opportunities and cultural enrichment to all of South Florida and its visitors. Festival Miami embarks on a new era in its 25th Anniversary Season with the expansion into two new venues, the Adrienne
Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, and the BankUnited Center at the University of Miami, furthering its commitment to reaching out to new audiences.
The 2008 season is scheduled to commence on October 9 and conclude on November 3. Dean Berg’s vision for the 25th season of Festival Miami presents 23
concerts over a four week period, with each week having its own unique theme. The four one-week themes include “Great Performances,” “Jazz and Beyond,” “Creative American
Music,” and “Music of the Americas.”
The goal of Festival Miami is to uphold and enhance the Mission Statement of the Frost School of Music by offering opportunities for music enjoyment and personal enrichment
to as many residents and visitors of South Florida as possible. As such, Festival Miami strives to provide innovative programming that reaches across the cultural boundaries of the
South Florida community.
The community is invited to partake in all that Festival Miami has to offer - from world premieres and symphonic concerts, to chamber music
presentations and jazz performances, and much more!
